Autism Connections Fredericton and the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design are excited to announce their collaborative initiative: Art is a Spectrum. The project celebrates the wonderful talents of those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The idea for this celebration was initially brought forward by Meara Lansburg, who was a staff member of the Centre last summer and is currently a student at the NBCCD in the visual arts program. Meara was inspirational in getting this project off the ground.

Over the last year, a collection of art has been submitted for this exciting project. The exhibit will begin with an Art showing hosted by the college at their New Brunswick Library of Craft and Design facility, located at 412 Queen Street. The date for the showing is Thursday April 18th, from 4:30 until 6:30 PM. The exhibit will stay open to the public for two weeks.

The initiative will be culminating in the launch of a permanent home for “Art is a Spectrum” in Cameron’s Room, located within the Autism Resources Fredericton facility at 1666 Lincoln Road. The exhibit opening will take place on May 16th from 6:30 until 8:30 PM. The display will be open to the public year round during operating hours.

This initiative is a wonderful way to celebrate the talents of those on the spectrum and to share with community the gifts that are presented through their art. We are so excited to see this celebration happen.
